    Learn a technique with ink line drawing enhanced with watercolour washes used by urban sketchers and travel journalists alike!

    The workshop is intended for beginner to intermediate artists wanting to explore ink line drawing enhanced with watercolour washes. It’s a technique used by urban sketchers and travel journalists alike. We’ll start with a line drawing and end up with something that looks like a painting. This no pressure workshop is intended for you to learn a three step process that you can use to capture images while outdoors or from reference photos. The three steps include; a.) Creating a line drawing sketch, b.) Adding black highlights, c.) Tinting the drawing with watercolour.

    DATES & TIMES:

    • Monday, July 21 at 7:00pm at Luppolo Brewing Company
    • Tuesday, July 22 at 7:00pm at Luppolo Brewing Company
    • Friday, July 25 at 7:00pm at Strange Fellows Brewing

    LENGTH: 1.5 hours

    LOCATIONS:

    • Luppolo Brewing Company, 1123 Venables St, Vancouver.
    • Strange Fellows Brewing, 1345 Clark Dr. Vancouver.
    • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check in. There will be somone to help you check-in at the brewery.

    AGES: Adults Ages 16+ (Minors must be accompanied by an adult), Suitable for beginners and up, Suitable for beginners and up

    PRICE: $35 per person per workshop

    ACCESSIBILITY: This location is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible, gender-neutral bathroom. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Seating in the studio is varied, some may have chairs or stools at short height, counter, or bar height seating. Weight capacities of seating is unknown. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.

    About the Artist

    Roman Czemerys is a Vancouver-based artist whose passion for architecture has taken him on a journey from designing buildings to creating intricate ink line watercolour artworks. With a lifetime of experience as an architect Roman’s artistic style is a unique blend of meticulous ink line work and free flowing watercolour washes, capturing the essence of his subjects with distinctively intricate and delicate touch. Now retired from architecture Roman spends much of his time urban sketching and drawing and painting in his studio at 1000 Parker Street in Vancouver.
