In this beginner-friendly workshop participants create their own hand-carved linocut stamp and printed tote bag of their own design!

Print a Tote Bag!

Beginner-friendly workshop to introduce participants to linocut printmaking on textiles. Participants have a chance to print on canvas tote bag (provided). What to expect: Participants will be provided one(1) canvas tote bag with additional totes available for purchase. Participants will leave with a hand-carved stamp and a printed tote bag of their own design. Students can choose to carve a stamp based on existing design templates or create their own custom designs. The stamps will be a maximum size of 4″x6”. No experience is required. All supplies will be provided.

About linocut: Linocut is a printmaking technique that involves carving a design into a piece of linoleum, applying ink to the carved surface, and then transferring the ink onto paper or textile.

  • Thursday, July 23 at 7:00pm – 8:30pm

LENGTH: 1.5 hours

LOCATIONS:

  • Superflux Beer Company, 505 Clark Dr. Vancouver, BC V5L 3H. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check in.

AGES: Adults 16+ (Minors must be accompanied by an adult), Suitable for beginners and up.

PRICE: $35 Equity Price, $45 Standard Price, $55 Supporter Price

ACCESSIBILITY: This location is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible, gender-neutral bathroom. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Seating in the studio is varied, and weight capacities of seating is unknown. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.

About the Artist

Christina is a printmaker who loves to make art and teach others to create art. Christina’s mission is to bring back traditional printmaking methods into the modern art world and teach others to enjoy the medium through their own creative expression. They enjoy working with themes of nature, decolonialism and self expression through colourful playful imagery.
