Explore the magic of indigo resist dyeing methods! Some fabric will be included
Experience the enchantment of indigo resist dyeing methods in this captivating workshop! Gain a fundamental understanding of the process while creating stunning hand-dyed pieces. We’ll provide some fabric for your creations, but feel free to bring along your own pre-washed cotton, silk, or linen materials to dye. Just remember to avoid large items to ensure everyone has enough dye to work their magic. Join us as we explore the world of indigo dyeing and unleash your creativity on fabric!
DATES & TIMES:
LENGTH: 2 hours
LOCATION: Studio 445, 1000 Parker Street. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check in. There will be somone to help you check-in outside of the studio.
AGES: Adults (ages 16 and up), Suitable for beginners and up
PRICE: $35 per person per workshop
ACCESSIBILITY: This studio is not wheelchair accessible. The studio is located up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator avalaible. Studios may be hot due to the summer weather. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Seating in the studio is varied, some may have chairs or stools at short height, counter, or bar height seating. Weight capacities of seating is unknown. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.
Naomi Yamamoto earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction from the Fibre Program at the Alberta College of Art and Design. As the founder of Flight Path Designs, she specializes in designing graphic leather goods and textiles. Inspired by the intersection of history and design, Naomi infuses her creations with a unique blend of tradition and innovation. Her upbringing, steeped in exposure to Japanese craft traditions, continues to shape her artistic vision. With years of experience leading dyeing workshops for groups and corporate teams, Naomi is dedicated to sharing her expertise.
