Fun with Fusing Workshop

    Discover the mesmerizing world of glass fusing! In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the art of creating stunning glass pieces. You’ll learn the basics of glass cutting and pattern formation, while exploring a palette of vibrant colors and captivating shapes. We’ll even mix in age-old mosaic techniques to add an extra layer of creativity!

    After crafting your piece, your tile will be fired in a kiln, resulting in a beautifully finished art work. Don’t worry if you’re new to glass fusing – no experience is required! Your finished creations will be available for pick up at the studio post-festival.

    DATES & TIMES:

    • Saturday, July 19 at10am, 1pm, and 3:30pm
    • Sunday, July 27 at 10am, 1pm, and 3:30pm

    LENGTH: 2 hours

    LOCATION: Courtyard of the Mergatroid Building, 975 Vernon Dr, Vancouver, BC V6A 3P2. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check in. There will be somone to help you check-in outside of 1000 Parker.

    AGES: Youth & Adults (ages 12 and up). Youth under the age of 16 must be accompained by an adult who is also participating in the workshop as space is limited. Suitable for beginners and up.

    PRICE: $35 per person per workshop

    ACCESSIBILITY: The studio is wheelchair accessible at ground level with slight driveway incline to courtyard. There is a wheelchair accessible washroom at the studio. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Seating in the studio is varied, some may have chairs or stools at short height, counter, or bar height seating. Weight capacities of seating is unknown. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.

    About the Artist

    Established in 2012, Terminal City Glass Co-op offers memberships, studio access and public educational programming in glass arts at the Mergatroid Building in East Vancouver. The studio’s education program includes classes in glassblowing, flameworking, beadmaking, and sandblasting, taught by experienced glassmakers. It is the first non-profit, cooperative glass studio in Canada.
