Discover the ancient art of Encaustic painting- with a modern twist! Learn encaustic fundamentals, building depth, texture, and three-dimensionality in a vibrant landscape painting that glows with waxy luminosity.

DATES & TIMES:

• Sunday, July 27 at 10am, 1pm, and 3:30pm

LENGTH: 2 hours

LOCATION: 1000 Parker St. Studios #342. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check in. There will be somone to help you check-in outside of 1000 Parker.

AGES: Adults (ages 16 and up), Suitable for beginners and up

PRICE: $35 per person per workshop

ACCESSIBILITY: This studio is not wheelchair accessible. The studio is located up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator avalaible. The building can get hot in afternoon during summer. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Seating in the studio is varied, some may have chairs or stools at short height, counter, or bar height seating. Weight capacities of seating is unknown. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.

 

About the Artist

Shary Bartlett is a Canadian artist living in Vancouver, Canada. Her mixed-media encaustic paintings and sculptures are held in public and private collections internationally. She teaches art workshops globally, nationally, and online and has been a long-time fine arts instructor at Capilano University, Langara College and Red Deer College. Shary instructs with the internationally acclaimed masterclass, Painting with Fire. Her encaustic mixed media artwork and techniques are published in the books, Encaustic Art in the 21st Century, and Encaustic Revelation. Her personally curated encaustic wax pigments, created with Enkaustikos Paints, are sold internationally.
